Project 14: Dreamlab, a complex system of projects

How did it all start anyway?

Prior

Before Project 14: Dreamlab, there is Stanley Krippner.

credit: rosencomet

"In 1964 Stanley Krippner

was appointed Director of the onides Dream Laboratory, and the formal experimental dream studies were then begun.

One hypothesis tested by Ullman and Krippner was that a subject's "dream protocol on any given experimental night would reflect the influence of telepathy by the appearance in [a subject's] dreams of correspondences to the target material viewed by [an agent]."

http://www.fortunecity.com/westwood/vivienne/598/asd-17/abstracts/ullman_17.htm

"Using a statistical technique called meta-analysis, the results of 450 dream telepathy studies published in journal articles between 1966 and 1973, show an overall hit rate of 63 percent.

The odds of getting a hit rate of 63 percent in 450 sessions when the chance rate is 50 percent and the confidence interval is small, is seventy-five million to one."

A PROJECT

This course material has proven to be very popular so please see that this course has a full complement of students at this time. (Please see popular forerunners and disclaimer immediately below.)

Exclusivity is not intentional. The alternative is to consult the companion course at Rice University Connexions. The Rice University course is up and running now.

THE DREAM LABORATORY AT HARVARD

Please note that at this time the newly formed alpha course, Dreamlab, is looking for senders and receivers for dreamlab experimentation (data collection and analysis) following The onides Protocols.

THE SET-UP

It is imperative the various points made by this course must be clear as many people are watching to see the scientific protocol is followed with exactitude. (Maximum rigor shall be applied without question.)

***

Therefore, the rationale and the logic for the course is explained express not implied on this website. Please note disclaimer below. The intent is clear. Objectives, Goals and Definitions are clearly explained. Any questions should be directed to the Project Lead in the interest of maximum clarity. In the absence of researchable questions about the process, it can be assumed there are none. (Time is of the essence.) The point, then, is to exercise maximum control for any experimentation that may take place so that the rigors of science are respected absolutely without question.

Having said that, there are many pilot projects planned to test the system prior to full application.

Here are steps in the scientific process:

As disciplined inquiry, the course shall begin with a fairly standard application of The Scientific Method as:

1. identify researchable problem

2. derive hypothesis

3. literature review of research

4. develop methodology

5. data collection and analysis

6. analysis

7. falsification

8. results & conclusions

9. interpretation

Project 14 Dreamlab

The ultimate interactional dreamlab is divided into several step-by-step mini-projects to get started.

Why?

The establishment of a dream laboratory is very difficult. There is a history of that difficulty that can be documented:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22Dream+Laboratory%22

***

http://project14.bravehost.com defines some of the concerns a dreamlab has.

It is not yet the exhaustive documentation needed to be fully evidential but it is a much needed start. The evidential shall surely follow. The initial task, then is 1. identify researchable problem.

****** That is the idea, to start it. ******

Other supportive websites are listed on that main Project 14 website for a more detailed description. If the reader cares for a lot of detail, that is available.

There is some considerable history to the dreamlab concept. Several have been tried over the last fifty years or so. Most if not all no longer exist for a variety of reasons. Funding is a major reason. Controversy may be another.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22Dream+Laboratory%22

***

Therefore, the initial Pilot for the main Dreamlab project is Project 14: Dreamlab.

***

It is a beginning toward A Virtual Dream Laboratory at Harvard University.

Please see http://dreamlab.bravehost.com for a frame of reference, some of the issues and some of the history of a dreamlab concept.

HYPOTHESES:

2. derive hypothesis

*****

The logic is that this dreamwork project at Harvard can

1.) use the Native American Blue Kachina Concept adapted to lucid Mapuche and Chono dreamwork to move consciousness from a lower reality to a higher level: Aztl¨¢n.

Mapuche:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Mapuche+dreamwork

Chono:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Chono+dream+chile

2.) Then that hightened consciousness is applied to extreme conflict resolution in Juarez (Socially Engaged Spirituality).

3.) The hypothesized effect is in raising of consciousness, purification and intense activism.

3. literature review of research

See:

METHODS:

4. develop methodology

In addition to the Blue Kachina concept, Project 14: Dreamwork uses The Ullman method for looking at dreams as a Harvard University Virtual Dream Laboratory.

*** First the Blue Kachina concept shall be described here then the Ullman method. ***

--------------------------------------

What is The Blue Kachina Concept?

The concept is a prophecy. "When the Blue Star Kachina makes its appearance in the heavens, the Fifth World will emerge". This will be the Day of Purification." The object of the Kachina concept is symbolized by the star Sirius. The action of that star, according to the prophecy is in "Moving consciousness from one reality or frequency - to another" http://www.crystalinks.com/sirius.html

***

*** The action of the star is personified as Carahue La Calchona. ***

***

GOALS

***

4. develop methodology

The process of dreamwork sounds easy. All one needs to do is to dream and the fifth world appears (pop!) as if by magic, right? It's a possibility.

The dreamwork process is more complex than that. Project 14: Dreamlab, using the Blue Star Kachina concept shall move consciousness from one reality (dreams) to another (waking state at, hopefully, a higher level of functioning).

***

The key is in the reaching of a higher level of consciousness.

"to increase the amount or degree of : AUGMENT b : to make brighter or more intense : DEEPEN c : to bring out more strongly : point up d : to make more acute : SHARPEN"

http://www.meriam-webster.com/dictionary/heighten

***

Goal:

4. develop methodology

The Goal of Project 14: Dreamlab, A Virtual Dream Laboratory at Harvard University

The application is to heighten consciousness to the horrible problems in Juarez.

***

DEFINITIONS

***

4. develop methodology

What, exactly, is the Blue Star? Is it real?

The Blue Star: "Sirius is the brightest star in the nighttime sky, with a visual apparent magnitude of -1.46. It is located in the constellation Canis Major. Its name comes from the Latin sirius, from Greek(seirios, "glowing"). It is situated in the eye of the greater dog Canis Major, therefore it is known as the 'Dog Star'." Martin Gashweseoma, Traditional Hopi Elder and Guardian of the Sacred Stone Tablets of the Fire Clan, For details see: http://www.crystalinks.com/hopi2.html

Once the Kachina concept is applied, then another, congruent step can be undertaken: the Ullman method (named for Montague Ullman, a well known dream researcher).

That process is documented at: http://dreamtable.bravehost.com

-------------------------------------

***

DEFINITIONS

***

What is the Ullman Method?

4. develop methodology

A dream table is assembled now as A Harvard University Virtual Dream Laboratory. Please click the following for a description of the Chono Dream Table.

***  (See: http://dreamtable.bravehost.com)

Dreamlab work is lucid and while in the state of dreaming. Participants in the collective of dream characters shall be trained with heart then assemble to narrate their dreams.

(The entire process is accomplished while in the dream state.)

The following Ullman method is applied:

"Group Dream Work - Ullman Jungian therapist Montague Ullman developed a highly structured group method of exploring dreams... It is a 4-phase process:

1) A dreamer volunteers and tells a dream in detail. Others may only interrupt to ask clarifying (non-interpretive) questions.

2) Others take the dream as their own, speaking of it as if they had actually dreamed it. They suggest what the dream might mean for them. The dreamer listens without participating.

3) The dream is officially returned to its original creator. The dreamer may respond to everyone else's input, and may share her/his own insights.

4) The dreamer thinks further about the dream, and reports (at a later time) any additional insights."
